ESO Stamina Nightblade DPS Build U50: which setup should you run?
Nightblade U50 has one of the highest single-target ceilings in ESO, but it is not an AoE monster. The optimized approach is to use Null Arca + Aegis Caller + Warmask for boss damage, then swap aggressively into Sul-Xan + Soulcleaver + Velothi for trash. Banner is a raid assignment — not something you keep just because a dummy build has room for it.
More flexible and often cleaner when Banner is already covered.

Important benchmark note: Charles’ famous 200K+ StamBlade was recorded on the U50 PTS. A later U50 guide documents a 195K+ ceiling after U50 launch, while a July LIVE Khajiit reference records 180K with a more static and realistic Null Arca / Aegis / Warmask setup. This guide uses all three for context instead of pretending the old 200K PTS screenshot is a guaranteed LIVE number.
The modern StamBlade ceiling is built around Perfected Slivers of the Null Arca + Aegis Caller + Huntsman’s Warmask + 1pc Slimecraw + Perfected Merciless Charge. A current LIVE 180K Khajiit parse uses exactly this core and explicitly notes that Dark Elf can go higher. Current U50 HM build data also repeatedly shows Null Arca, Aegis Caller, Merciless Charge and Warmask together.
Warmask restriction: it is outstanding on a genuinely single target because it gives Minor Berserk plus 15% extra damage to the marked enemy — but it makes you deal 50% less damage to every other enemy. Never carry it blindly into cleave or trash.

Morag Tong / status support: top-end Nightblade benefits heavily from martial damage amplification and status support. If your composition assigns another player to Morag Tong or a status Knife setup, do not duplicate it blindly — build around the buffs your raid actually provides.

Why Soulcleaver: U50 Soulcleaver is a genuine trash set because it upgrades Siphoning skills and makes Power Extraction useful until the pack reaches execute. This is exactly where Nightblade needs help: turning a single-target class into a credible burst-AoE DD.
Vampire Stage 2: current min-max trash and parse references use Vampire Stage 2 to exploit Strike from the Shadows after Shadowy Disguise, and Blood Mist is valuable for movement between packs. Treat Vamp as an advanced damage/routing option, not a mandatory progression requirement.
Dark Elf is the best default choice for optimized 12-player raid groups. Khajiit can outperform Dark Elf in Solo, 4-player content and PUG groups when Critical Damage buffs are weak or incomplete. High Elf remains an excellent third-place damage option.

+25% Critical Damage and Healing and raises your maximum Crit Damage cap by 30%, from the normal 125% to 155%.

Nocturnal Inspiration
Hemorrhage can generate 2 Ultimate with a chance equal to your Weapon Critical, once every 0.3s. Useful when a raid setup values extremely high Incap / Soul Harvest generation over some selfish execute scaling.
Pure class only: activating subclassing disables Class Mastery. U50 Nightblade finally has enough mastery power that the pure-class version is a legitimate endgame choice rather than a nostalgia build.
The best Nightblade rotation is dynamic. The important part is not memorizing a 40-skill string; it is understanding Incap windows, bow-proc banking, Cloak timing and the Killer’s Blade execute threshold. Charles’ U50 reference prioritizes Carve stacks, bow proc, Stampede, Cloak, Trap, Debilitate, Shade, Contingency and then Surprise Attack.
Use Incap early and often, but save the final Incap for execute. The high-end reference starts Killer’s Blade around 28% and still refreshes DoTs until roughly 14%.
