U50 patch status & evidence

Current U50 rules, historical parse evidence. Reviewed 17 September 2026 against the U50 launch notes, Incremental 1, Incremental 2 and final U50 Incremental 3. The 165,933 parse is verified early-U50 Live evidence from 11 June, not a September retest or a ranking of every DK variant. The final incremental contains no listed Dragonknight balance adjustment.

Dragonknight DPS: choose the raid job first

START HERE · STAMINA

Magma Fist + Molten Whip. A fully documented 165,933 DPS U50 Live parse without Banner Bearer, with Heat Shock and room for useful class support.

COMPARE · MAGICKA

Flame Lash converts Off Balance access into Power Lash charges. A serious damage option when the group supplies the right conditions; its linked 181,015 reference is a pre-Live test.

ADAPT · BOSS & TRASH

Change the mythic and five-piece sets when extra targets matter. Keep a separate support loadout if Z’en, Alkosh or class buffs are your assignment.

This ESO Dragonknight DPS Build U50 starts from a reproducible Live setup. It does not declare a universal winner from unrelated parses. Your best configuration depends on target count, usable melee time, support coverage and the work your roster needs you to do.

Pure class means keeping Ardent Flame, Draconic Power and Earthen Heart. These Dragonknight DPS presets use Class Mastery; do not activate subclassing and expect to retain those bonuses. Choose your resource allocation with the preset: Stamina for Magma Fist, Magicka for Power Lash or the channeled breath alternative.

166K is rounded from 165,933. It is an attributed completed dummy parse, not a guaranteed result or a claim that every variant hits the same number. The source’s simulation tables are excluded from measured DPS claims.

The Power Lash report and Flaming Fist report remain useful comparison material, but their dates and server builds prevent treating their bigger numbers as Live proof. Charles’s 183K DK video is labelled U49 and is retained only as historical context.

Separate raid footage from dummy proof

The stamina source’s linked trial gameplay is labelled U49; it is not fresh U50 raid validation. The separate Breath Dragonknight guide labels its dungeon examples U50 and links a Castle Thorn encounter report. Report details were unavailable for independent inspection here. It supplies a route to further review, not a verified raid DPS figure for the stamina or Power Lash presets.

03 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

The U50 Dragonknight DPS engine

Inexorable Descent

The offensive default for Dragonknight DPS improves Landslide. Build and retain your stacks through active combat. A dummy opened with full stacks is a different test from a fresh pull.

Wildfire Embers

The second offensive mastery rewards the ending of eligible DK damage-over-time effects. Keep the class DoTs working, without blindly spending every global cooldown on early refreshes.

Heat Shock or Power Lash

Magma Fist supplies Heat Shock for the group. Flame Lash depends on an Off Balance target to unlock empowered casts. These are different jobs with different uptime checks.

The official U50 Live patch notes remove the old increased-damage bonuses from Flame Lash and Molten Whip and move that power into Class Mastery. Molten Whip still spends Seething Fury to strengthen its next hit. Do not add the removed global bonus to your Dragonknight DPS calculations.

Engulfing Dragonfire is a channeled direct-damage ability. Its animation does not make it a heavy attack or a normal DoT. U50 allows it to trigger Wildfire Embers; U51 preview changes to breath cost, mitigation and Landslide are outside this guide.

U50 incremental cross-check

The 29 June item adjustment changed Shattered Paths Signet to a 133-Ultimate / 133% PvE cap and a 2-second status trigger. This baseline wears Warmask, so that change is not a reason to recalculate its parse. The 20 July Werewolf adjustments must be considered when comparing a transformed roster slot with a native DK.

04 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Dragonknight DPS gear: exact Live parse equipment

The Dragonknight DPS reference configuration is: six medium pieces, one light piece, two daggers and a Maelstrom greatsword. The CMX names the weapons and jewelry as Advancing Yokeda; that is the equipment naming used by the Berserking Warrior set.

¹ The capture displays “Multi-Effect” on jewelry. Use the Weapon/Spell Damage enchantment for this Dragonknight DPS setup; the screenshot alone does not identify every secondary effect. Icons represent the linked game set, rather than a separate appearance for each slot.

The count is five Null Arca body pieces on both bars; three Berserking Warrior jewelry pieces plus two daggers on the front bar; one mythic and one monster shoulder. The back-bar greatsword completes its own two-piece arena effect. Do not accidentally move a body piece and break a five-piece bonus.

Warmask: one priority target

Apply its mark with a bash or fully charged heavy attack. The marked target gains your focused damage, while your damage to other enemies is heavily reduced. Remove the mythic for meaningful cleave.

Berserking Warrior: melee uptime

Its critical stacks need qualifying Martial melee damage. Keep light attacks and short, purposeful back-bar visits. A long mechanic away from the target changes its value for Dragonknight DPS.

Null Arca + Maelstrom

Null Arca is the single-target proc reference for this Dragonknight DPS setup. Stampede activates Merciless Charge for direct-damage pressure. Refresh the ground effect where the boss will remain, rather than chasing an old position.

05 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Dragonknight DPS skill bars: no-Banner baseline

Front bar · Dual Wield

Back bar · Two-Handed

These twelve Dragonknight DPS slots reproduce the reference loadout. Banner Bearer is absent; Standard of Might is present. The DK ultimate is a different ability from the scribed Banner, so “no Banner” never means removing your class ultimate.

Magma Fist → Molten Whip

Build Heat Shock on the priority enemy and maintain it while spending three-stack Seething Fury. The empowerment comes from other DK casts, so weave your Dragonknight DPS skills into the loop.

Soul of Flame

Use it deliberately as resources fall. Its restoration scales with missing resources, and it also has an offensive finish. An interrupt only works against an enemy actually casting an interruptible ability.

Incinerate + Mantle

Keep Incinerate’s pulses and Shatterspike Mantle’s offensive and defensive effects running. Reapply target-bound effects after a target change; your own buff icon does not prove the new target has the DoT.

Searing Claw covers a priority enemy; Disintegrating Dragonfire reaches a cone and applies Major Breach. Barbed Trap contributes Minor Force. For a Dragonknight DPS, Igneous Weapons is part of your group coverage, not a buff to drop merely because you already receive Major Brutality elsewhere.

06 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Dragonknight DPS with Banner Bearer

Add a Banner to your Dragonknight DPS setup when its benefits survive the cost of two occupied bar slots and the sustain pressure of the chosen scripts. Start with the no-Banner result, then test the change under the same conditions. The following is a proposed raid adaptation, not the measured 165,933 setup.

Stamina · single target

Front-bar change
Replace Disintegrating Dragonfire with Banner Bearer
Back-bar change
Replace Barbed Trap with the same Banner
Requirement
Keep Soul of Flame. Obtain Minor Force elsewhere and confirm Major Breach coverage.

Power Lash · cleave

Requirement
Use the Power Lash cleave bars below. Velothi supplies Minor Force.

Dragonknight DPS Banner scripts to test

Focused boss damage

Focus
Shock Damage → Shocking Banner
Signature
Cavalier’s Charge
Affix
Heroism if uncovered; otherwise the missing group buff

Several nearby enemies

Focus
Magic Damage → Magical Banner, or Shock Damage
Signature
Class Mastery
Affix
Heroism, Courage or a defensive buff according to coverage

Shock Damage buffs direct damage; Magic Damage covers Magical damage, which includes Flame. Cavalier’s Charge depends on bonus movement speed: do not assume its maximum benefit while standing still without the required buffs. The DK Class Mastery script improves with nearby enemies and is distinct from your two class mastery passives.

Named buffs do not stack with themselves. If Minor Heroism already comes from potions or the group, change the affix rather than counting it twice. Likewise, Warmask already supplies Minor Berserk. Check your Dragonknight DPS sustain through the whole fight, including blocks and dodge rolls.

Banner Bearer: available scripts and effects · Skinny Cheeks: single-target and AoE script guidance

Banner comparison: keep the missing buffs visible

Save A as the complete no-Banner baseline and B with the exact two slot swaps above. Record Banner scripts and uptime, Minor Force coverage, penetration, potion effects and resource failure. First compare personal damage under identical external buffs; then assess the actual raid package with its carrier assignment. These answer different questions. If B loses a required buff, fixing that gap is part of the build, not evidence that the script itself is weak.

07 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Dragonknight DPS rotation: priorities that survive a raid

  • Prepare the pull: activate Igneous Weapons, Incinerate and Shatterspike Mantle. Start with the gear, food and potion used by the preset. Record starting Ultimate and Landslide if you are comparing parses.
  • Establish the target: mark it when using Warmask, place Stampede and apply the class DoTs. Build Heat Shock with Magma Fist; do not lose the debuff during a string of unrelated refreshes.
  • Spend intelligently: weave a light attack between skill casts. Use Molten Whip at three Seething Fury stacks, while refreshing expiring effects and keeping enough resources for required mechanics.
  • Recover on purpose: work Soul of Flame into the rotation before sustain failure forces multiple heavy attacks. Repeatedly casting it at almost full resources wastes much of its restoration.
  • Use the ultimate window: place Standard of Might where the group and boss can remain. Coordinate it with vulnerability, Slayer and other raid windows. Use Shifting Standard only when the group coverage and your assignment justify the alternative.
  • Finish the fight: stop refreshing effects whose remaining damage cannot repay the cast before the target dies. Keep required group debuffs until the priority target is actually dead.

This Dragonknight DPS priority is a practical execution framework. A long fixed sequence can hide a missed mechanic, a moved boss or an expiring group debuff. Review which casts were delayed and which DoTs were overwritten, then change one thing per comparison.

Power Lash: changing the Dragonknight DPS rotation

Hit an Off Balance enemy with Flame Lash to obtain five Power Lash charges, then spend them within their duration while maintaining your other effects. The trigger has its own cooldown. If the raid does not supply Off Balance, a scripted Traveling Knife with that affix can fill the job; it costs a skill slot and a cast, so it belongs in the comparison.

Secure Power Lash charges while Off Balance is available, then spend them on the priority target. Align the cone with useful adds. A Heavy Attack used for sustain also consumes time from that opportunity; do not add one automatically to a rotation that already sustains.

08 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Dragonknight DPS boss variants: focus, cleave and movement

One sustained priority target

Concrete setup to start from
Null Arca + Berserking Warrior + Warmask + one Slimecraw + Merciless Charge
Decision
Use the exact stamina baseline. Compare Power Lash separately if Off Balance coverage is reliable.

Boss with valuable adds

Concrete setup to start from
Tide-Born Wildstalker body + Perfected Ansuul’s Torment front bar + Velothi + one Slimecraw + Merciless Charge
Decision
Our practical cleave selection from the documented set families. Check penetration and crit cap for your roster.

Dense, durable targets

Concrete setup to start from
Azureblight body + Ansuul front bar + Velothi + one Slimecraw
Decision
Assign the Azureblight wearer; it needs repeated DoT hits and enough target lifetime.

Boss repeatedly leaves ground effects

Concrete setup to start from
Keep the class engine; reconsider stationary procs and arena coverage
Decision
Compare damage during usable target time. Reposition ground effects instead of following a dummy script.

For the Dragonknight DPS cleave layout, wear five Tide-Born pieces on chest, hands, waist, legs and feet. Equip Ansuul on head, both rings and both daggers, Slimecraw on shoulders, Velothi on neck, and the arena weapon on the back bar. This is a complete 5 + 5 + 1 + 1 front-bar arrangement; do not keep Warmask equipped.

Ansuul supplies unconditional monster damage and a stronger window after a successful interrupt. That makes an interrupt assignment relevant to the set choice; do not assume a boss that cannot be interrupted grants the proc. Tide-Born favours direct attacks, while Azureblight requires a different target and DoT profile.

Power Lash · advanced single target, no Banner

Front bar · Dual Wield

Back bar · Two-Handed

For the Power Lash Dragonknight DPS variant, use Magicka attributes and armor glyphs. The linked pre-Live capture uses a Nirnhoned Absorb Stamina main dagger, Charged Poison off hand, and Shifting Standard. Treat those as that capture’s conditions, not proof that Nirnhoned or that ultimate is always better in a Live raid. Quick Cloak or Soul of Flame can replace a damage slot when movement, mitigation or sustain demand it.

Power Lash · cleave, no Banner

Front bar · Dual Wield

Back bar · Two-Handed

Bar and set-family references: Power Lash U50. The stamina Dragonknight DPS baseline remains preferable when your assigned Heat Shock coverage would otherwise disappear.

Dragonknight DPS trash: build for the pull length

Sul-Xan requires a recently damaged enemy to die and a soul pickup. Keep its buff through subsequent pulls where possible; it is not a free always-on bonus against a fresh isolated boss. For long stacked packs, compare Azureblight on the body. For short pulls, forcing a slow stacking set can lose damage before it ever activates.

Open with prebuffs, then place Blockade and the destruction ultimate into the planned stack. Use Dragonfire and Talons for area pressure; switch to Whirling Blades when enemies are low enough for its execute to matter. Keep Magma Fist for a dangerous priority add rather than spreading it across every small target.

This Dragonknight DPS trash preset is an encounter adaptation. Compare it on the same pulls, with the same targets and support, before treating it as your roster’s default.

10 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Dragonknight DPS support: Z’en, Alkosh and class coverage

A support Dragonknight DPS is chosen to improve the group’s kill, not to match a pure-damage dummy headline. The U50 Trials DK community build documents separate parse, Z’en and ZenKosh versions. It supports the existence of the role; its description alone is not a verified raid performance log.

Z’en only

Equipment plan
Five Z’en’s Redress + a suitable trial damage set; mythic chosen for target profile
What to measure
Touch of Z’en and the qualifying DoTs on the priority target.

Z’en + Alkosh

Equipment plan
Five Alkosh body pieces; Z’en on three jewelry pieces and two daggers; two-piece monster option
What to measure
Synergy access, shockwave hits, resistance reduction and Z’en coverage. This deliberately leaves out a mythic.

Class support

Equipment plan
Magma Fist + Igneous Weapons + planned Standard of Might
What to measure
Heat Shock, group buff coverage, correct ultimate placement and surviving your mechanics.

Lead From the Front

Equipment plan
Replace one offensive Class Mastery only by raid assignment
What to measure
Added Major Berserk / Protection coverage compared with the personal damage forgone.

Z’en’s Redress applies Touch of Z’en through light attacks and scales its damage-taken benefit with qualifying damage-over-time effects, up to five. Do not assume every ground effect counts: inspect the actual debuff and keep enough qualifying effects on the assigned target.

Roar of Alkosh activates from synergies and reduces resistance on enemies hit by its shockwave, up to 6,000 based on Weapon Damage. As the assigned support Dragonknight DPS, plan both the synergy supply and your position. Equipping the set does not establish its uptime or its full debuff value.

Before assigning a Dragonknight DPS slot, establish one clear owner for each required group effect. A second identical buff does not replace missing coverage elsewhere. If the raid assigns Power Lash to you, establish who supplies Heat Shock. If it assigns Magma Fist, compare your contribution on that basis.

Dragonknight DPS: the class-buff coverage contract

Magma Fist: Heat Shock adds 66 damage taken per stack, up to three stacks, with a seven-second duration. It is a flat contribution, not 66% damage taken. Track the stacks on the priority target and rebuild after a target swap. Magma Fist details.

Igneous Weapons: its one-minute group buff supplies Major Brutality/Sorcery and an additional attack-triggered Flame effect. Keeping the named buffs elsewhere does not automatically replace that whole package. Refresh for the group before it expires, including players who missed the application. Igneous Weapons details.

Standard of Might: plan an eight-meter, fifteen-second area. Allies inside receive 300 Weapon/Spell Damage and 10% damage reduction; the caster receives additional personal bonuses. A boss moving out or a split group changes its value. Shifting Standard trades this package for a movable damage effect; it is not equivalent group coverage. Compare the Standard morphs.

11 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Dragonknight DPS character, CP and consumables

Stamina baseline

Dark Elf · 64 Stamina · The Thief. Hearty Garlic Corn Chowder and a potion providing Minor Heroism plus resource restoration match the documented reference conditions.

Power Lash / breath

For a Magicka Dragonknight DPS, move attributes and armor glyphs to Magicka. Dark Elf is a sensible starting choice; compare alternatives only with the same buffs and critical-damage headroom.

Progression supplies

Use enough Health to survive the assigned mechanic. If a comfort food or defensive potion costs damage but prevents deaths, assess the full encounter rather than the dummy alone.

165,933 Live stamina

Practical progression suggestion; swap for the actual incoming damage and movement task.

For Dragonknight DPS, do not add Fighting Finesse or Backstabber to a configuration already at the Critical Damage cap. Likewise, extra penetration only helps while the target still has resistance left after the group’s debuffs. Medium armor is a group-dependent choice, not a rule that makes every light piece wrong.

For your Dragonknight DPS, train the passives for all three class lines, the weapon lines actually used, the equipped armor weights, racial skills and Undaunted. Fighters Guild passives matter to slotted guild abilities and kill situations. Train Medicinal Use before comparing potion coverage. Keep the human resource names precise: a potion label such as “Essence of Magicka” does not identify its full crafted effect combination.

A simpler alternative: Engulfing Dragonfire

The U50 Breath Dragonknight guide reports a separate 152,240 DPS CMX reference and distinguishes it from simulations. It builds around Engulfing Dragonfire and Take Flight. This is an easier, channel-focused Dragonknight DPS alternative, not a measured upgrade to the stamina setup here. Treat it as a separate build: Disintegrating Dragonfire and Engulfing Dragonfire are morphs of the same skill and cannot be used together.

12 / ALPHA SQUAD U50

Make your Dragonknight DPS repeatable

  • Save separate presets: no-Banner parse, Banner experiment, focused boss, cleave boss, trash and assigned support. Name them for their purpose so you do not bring Warmask into an add-cleave job.
  • Compare like with like: same Live patch, dummy, starting Ultimate, stack state, race, food, potions and group conditions. Keep the full kill and both CMX screenshots.
  • Review execution: light attacks, time on the wrong bar, Heat Shock gaps, Power Lash charges wasted, dead ground effects and resource failure. Fix those before chasing a small trait difference.
  • Review raid value: deaths, required interrupts, priority-target damage, buffs and debuffs. A larger total number produced on irrelevant adds can still be a worse pull.
  • Upgrade in a useful order: correct five-piece counts, essential skill morphs and passives, weapon quality, working sustain, then optimized traits and perfected bonuses. Non-perfected trial and arena pieces can be a bridge while you farm.

Dragonknight DPS FAQ

Is 166K a Live result?

Yes. The linked Hyperioxes capture shows 165,933 DPS and an eso.live.12.0.5 footer. It proves that completed Dragonknight DPS dummy result under those conditions, not a universal ceiling.

Is Power Lash definitely the best Live DK?

The current U50 guide rates it highly, but the inspected 181,015 capture is pre-Live. We cannot establish a current Live Dragonknight DPS ranking from that number alone.

How much DPS does Banner add?

No verified matched U50 A/B pair was found. The guide gives exact slot changes and scripts to test, without making up a percentage.

Do I remove Standard of Might for the no-Banner setup?

No. Standard of Might is your Dragonknight ultimate. Banner Bearer is a separate scribed Support skill.

Can I keep Warmask for trash?

Its marked-target advantage comes with a major penalty against other enemies. Use the cleave or trash mythic arrangement instead.

Should every DK run Z’en and Alkosh?

Only when assigned. The role requires debuff and synergy coverage, and should be assessed with the raid’s overall damage and survival.

A repeatable Dragonknight DPS test

Run at least three complete kills per configuration under the same conditions, alternating A and B where practical. Keep the median, the spread and every setup capture, including the slower run. Do not average a partial pull with full kills or silently change potion effects between runs. Record Live build number and date; an older screenshot is not a new-patch retest.

For raids: compare the same boss, difficulty, phase and assignment. Separate priority-target damage from total cleave. Check debuff gaps during attackable time, deaths, failed mechanics and time spent unable to reach the target. Review a representative clean pull and a progression pull; the best isolated burst window cannot certify the loadout.

Accept a change when: the improvement repeats, the required group effects remain covered and the setup still survives its assigned mechanics. If results overlap or conditions differ, keep both presets and label the outcome inconclusive. A roster decision should explain what the group gains.

Build your Dragonknight DPS around the Alpha Squad roster

Bring a Dragonknight DPS setup you can explain and a CMX you can reproduce. Your raid lead needs to know whether you are providing damage, Heat Shock, Z’en, Alkosh or another assigned effect. Prepare the alternative before the run, then spend raid time solving the encounter.
